My personal page about paintball. I do not play that much anymore due to
various reasons. But I hope to some day get into a team again, even if
its just for recreational playing.

The sport
The paintball marker was originally developed in the USA for tagging cows that were
going to get
slaughtered. It all started with a couple of cowboys that found it more fun to run around and
tag each other, and just like that, the paintball sport was born. Since then the sport has
developed into a huge industry. It is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, with more
and more players each day. Pro players, armature players and lots of recreational players that
use the game as a means of relaxation. There are national leagues in many countries, and there
is also an international league where the best teams in the world compete.
In addition there
are many pro and armature tournaments through out the world. Pro players makes a living out of
playing paintball, and are sponsored by manufacturers and companies.

Me and paintball
I started playing paintball about the time i was in the 9th grade in junior
high school, which
was around 1990-91. I hardly knew what the sport was about , but together with a group of friend
I bought one of the first simple paintball guns on the market. It had the quite shady name
Splatmaster Rapid. Rapid because it was semi automatic, which means that it shot one ball
each time the trigger is pulled. Today some markers can shoot up to 20 balls a second, and the
price easily rises to around €1900 ($2500).
